HBO's Game of Thrones is based on the acclaimed HBO series of the same name, based on the story of medieval Westeros, from George R.R. Martin's novels. Since the events in the books are somewhat similar to those depicted in the television show, many events have been condensed or changed to better fit the medium. One major event is the infamous wedding of King Cerion Targaryen and Queen Cersei, which has been altered numerous times throughout the years, first introduced in the third book. Most notable in that it was the first instance where a woman was allowed to lay with the new king. If the success of the HBO TV show The Sopranos was any indication of what Game of Thrones might do on the small screen, then I have to say that they have already done a great job. The show's first season wrapped up with a massive finale episode that had everyone, including me, talking for months about what to do next. Now, after a season of build-up and high tension, the second season of Game of Thrones promises even more intense action.
